Final polishing use and installation

ZHUIFENG cerium oxide wool polishing wheels are made by interlacing synthetic-fibre layers, then spiral-winding and bonding them into a wheel. A controlled amount of cerium oxide polishing powder is added to support the final polishing stage.

For straight-line edging, beveling and shaped beveling machines, the wheel is used in the final polishing position to remove light processing marks and increase edge brightness. During installation, keep the direction arrow shown on the wheel consistent with motor rotation. During use, operate with a cerium oxide polishing powder and water mixture.

Buyer questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a wool pad for polishing or buffing?

Wool pads are mainly used for buffing to remove heavy scratches and defects. Finer polishing is normally completed with foam pads afterward.

What's the difference between a buffing wheel and a polishing wheel?

A buffing wheel is more aggressive for cutting, removing deep scratches and heavy material. A polishing wheel is softer, used for final finishing to create a smooth, glossy surface.

Can you use a buffing wheel without compound?

Not recommended. Buffing compound delivers cutting performance and helps prevent surface scratching. A bare wheel can yield poor results and may damage workpieces.

Is wool good for buffing?

Yes. Wool has strong cutting power, making it suitable for heavy-cut buffing to help eliminate deep scratches, oxidation and blemishes.
